Cruiserweight Championship match at Extreme Rules given new stipulation

WWE News: Cruiserweight Championship match at Extreme Rules given new stipulation

How will this affect the championship match at Extreme Rules?

Who will walk away as the Champion of the Cruiserweights?

What’s the story?
Austin Aries and Neville are scheduled to face each other at Extreme Rules for the Cruiserweight Championship. The WWE announced a new stipulation for the match and revealed to the fans on social media that the title will be defended in a submission match.
In case you didn’t know...
The last submission match to take place in WWE was in 2014 when Rusev faced Jack Swagger on SmackDown. This is the first ever Cruiserweight Championship submission match in the division’s latest incarnation.

The heart of the matter
Both wrestlers utilise submission moves and will likely display more hold as their match progresses. Neville uses the Rings of Saturn, a Crossface and armbar combo while Aries uses the Last Chancery, a bridging arm triangle choke. They also showcased their submission during Aries’ latest match against Tony Nese on Raw.
With TJ Perkins’ recent involvement in their feud, there’s no telling whether this is the last time Aries and Neville will fight each other for the championship. This match could end the program, but a triple threat match at Great Balls of Fire is also likely.

What’s next?
Tune in to 205 Live in the next two weeks to see how the feud between the Man that Gravity Forgot and The Greatest Man That Ever Lived progresses.

Author’s take

Neville and Aries have put on some great matches these past few months, but it may be time for this feud to come to an end. None of the other Cruiserweights have been the focal point of the division since this feud began, so its conclusion will definitely help prevent this feud from going stale.

What did WWE's top stars post on Instagram this week? (14th May-20th May)

Clicks n' Kicks: What did WWE's top stars post on Instagram this week? (14th May-20th May)

It's a pay-per-view weekend again, so watch the WWE Superstars sizzle it up on Instagram.

#5 John Cena shared a strange image

Part Darth Vader and part cat. Don’t ask us who she/he is. All we know is that he/she is a picture on John Cena’s Instagram account. Ummm, moving on then...

#4The Rock met Katy Perry

We wonder who the bigger star is, right now? It’s amazing how far The Rock has come, since his WWE days. Do you think he'll be US President someday? Let us know in the comments below.

#3 Brie Bella celebrated Mother’s Day

We're glad to see WWE”s first couple, Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella, so happy. May you remain this happy, for the rest of your lives too.

#2 The Authority went to a Metallica concert

Can you think of a more heavy metal WWE couple than Triple H and Stephanie McMahon? We certainly cannot. The two of them attended Metallica live in concert, and presumably, had an absolute blast. Well, to be fair, nothing else matters.

#1 Chris Jericho paid tribute to Chris Cornell

Now, we reach the end of our countdown and want to conclude on a sombre note. Chris Jericho paid tribute to Chris Cornell, a man who passed away recently. One of the greatest voices of our generation, he was the singer of the grunge band Soundgarden. As a part of the music fraternity, Jericho will miss him dearly.

WWE News: Cedric Alexander to return to TV this week.

WWE News: Cedric Alexander to return to TV this week

Cedric Alexander is back in action this Tuesday. What's next for him in the Cruiserweight Division?

The Queen City’s Favorite Son will return to the WWE soon

What’s the Story?
A few WWE Superstars have been injured this year, but one of them will be returning to WWE programming as soon this week.
Cruiserweight wrestler Cedric Alexander will return to 205 Live this Tuesday on the WWE Network.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Alexander was introduced to the WWE audience through the Cruiserweight Classic where he progressed to the second round before losing to Kota Ibushi. His match with Ibushi was heavily praised by both wrestling fans and officials and was added to the 2016 Match of the Year Collection on the WWE Network.
Alexander would sign with the WWE and would be involved in a storyline with Noam Dar attempting to steal his valet/love interest, Alicia Fox.
Before the storyline concluded, news broke that Alexander suffered a knee injury that would keep him out of action from 3 to 5 months.

The Heart of the Matter
The news of Alexander’s return to the ring came from Alexander himself following a tweet with the caption “Flying into 205 Live this Tuesday night for my return on the WWE Network.”
Alexander managed to make an early recovery and will likely resume his feud with Noam Dar and Alicia Fox this Tuesday unless there are other plans for him that are currently unknown.

What’s Next?
The Cruiserweight Championship picture is currently focused on TJ Perkins, Austin Aries, and the current champion Neville, so Alexander will likely not factor into a title shot any time soon.
Alexander only mentioned his return on 205 Live, so he may not be returning to Monday Night Raw this week.

Author’s Take
Alexander is a fantastic wrestler so it’s good to hear that he’ll be returning to the ring this week.
The Lumbar Legacy hasn’t done much since his time in the Cruiserweight Classic, but hopefully that can change going forward.

From the WWE Rumor Mill: Reason for #DIY splitting up at NXT Takeover: Chicago.

From the WWE Rumor Mill: Reason for #DIY splitting up at NXT Takeover: Chicago

#DIY came to an end at NXT Takeover: Chicago, but what was the cause?

The Team, #DIY, is no more

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa ended their tag team, #DIY, after their main event at NXT Takeover: Chicago. No DQ.com reports that the split may have happened in preparation for their debut on the main roster.
In case you didn’t know....
Gargano and Ciampa formed their tag team in 2015 and would eventually win the NXT Tag Team Championships during their feud with The Revival last year. They held the belts for over 100 days before losing them to The Authors of Pain at NXT Takeover: San Antonio.
Their last match as a team took place at NXT Takeover: Chicago when the duo lost to The Authors of Pain in the main event. Following the match, Gargano and Ciampa embraced at the top of the ramp until Ciampa brutally attacked Gargano.
Ciampa would send a tweet out with a gif of the beatdown and the caption “This wasn’t our moment…this is my moment.”

The heart of the matter

No DQ.com claimed that #DIY was split up so that they can be used as singles competitors on the main roster as opposed to the tag team act they’ve been these past three years. There is no current time table regarding their debut on the main roster, nor is there any word on whether the two men will be a part of the Cruiserweight Division in the future.

What’s next?
Tune in to NXT this Wednesday to see the feud between Ciampa and Gargano continue to develop.
There’s no word on when their first match against each other will be. It could occur happen over the next few weeks or the WWE could save it for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2017.
Unless the WWE treats this feud like the Sami Zayn-Kevin Owens rivalry, then their quarrel will likely conclude prior to their main roster debuts.

Author’s take
While the argument could be made that the rosters for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live are in need of more captivating tag teams, the same logic could apply to their midcard and cruiserweight division as well.
Both men are talented wrestlers and, hopefully, their singles careers on the main roster prove successful.
On the other hand, if their singles runs don’t work, then the team could be reunited as soon as possible and show the casual fans what they missed in NXT.

It was a quiet reception with a small circle of close knit friends and family members

Drew Gulak is a prominent star of 205 LIVE
205 LIVE star Drew Gulak recently married his long-time girlfriend, Liz Dietz. Hailing from Philadelphia, PA, Drew Gulak is one of the more physical competitors in the Cruiserweight division; armed with an array of submission holds and suplexes, Gulak is a devastating opponent in the ring.
Recently Gulak has been on a ‘No Fly Zone’ campaign on 205 LIVE where he has taken issue with the Cruiserweights and their high-fly.
