WWE 2K18 release date officially announced.

WWE New: WWE 2K18 release date officially announced

What will be in store for WWE gamers when WWE 2K18 is released?

The model released by Pixelgun Studios of AJ Styles

What’s the story?
WWE has sold millions of units with the latest 2K release and WWE 2K18 is scheduled to arrive before the winter. Per 2K’s earnings reports, WWE 2K18 has been confirmed for release this fall.
In case you didn’t know...

The WWE have been in the video game business since 1989 when the company released WrestleMania for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since that time, the WWE have released a multitude of games with the latest video game being WWE 2K17.
THQ used to be responsible for the release of WWE video games, but the publishing rights were acquired by Take-Two Interactive following THQ’s file for bankruptcy. THQ is the company responsible for producing Grand Theft Auto, BioShock, the NBA 2K series, and several other games.
Pixelgun Studios, the company that scans wrestlers for WWE video games, released a 3D model of AJ Styles that was rumoured to be the updated version of the character for 2K18.

The heart of the matter
According to the Take-Two Interactive News Release, net revenue for the company grew 52% to $571.6 million, as compared to $377.2 million in last year’s fiscal fourth quarter.
The report claimed some of the biggest contributors to this boost in revenue were Grand Theft Auto V, NBA 2K17 and WWE 2K17. The news of WWE 2K17’s contribution to the boost in sales is interesting, considering the relatively low sales the game experienced in the first week.
In the first week of sales, WWE 2K17 sold approximately 490,000 units. In comparison to the past two years, WWE 2K17 sold about 40,000 fewer units than WWE 2K16 and about 85,000 units less than WWE 2K15.
Despite this initial setback, WWE 2K17 has sold 3 million units thus far.

What’s next?
With the release date for WWE 2K18 confirmed, fans will now speculate as to what features the company will include, to entice more fans to buy the game this fall.

Author’s Take
WWE 2K games typically are released around September or October, so this news seems to confirm the production of 2K18 is on track. Hopefully, the WWE includes the right wrestlers and features to ensure 2K18 is just as successful as its predecessors.

CM Punk responds to being called out on failed professional wrestling career and UFC loss

WWE News: CM Punk responds to being called out on failed professional wrestling career and UFC loss

CM Punk lost once again, got trolled on TV and then called out on his failed professional wrestling career and UFC loss.

CM Punk seems to have gotten the short end of the stick once again.

What’s the story?
CM Punk ended up losing a challenge on the most recent episode of MTV’s The Challenge.
Punk was then trolled by a fellow contestant and called out on, what the contestant opined, was a failed professional wrestling career, besides being shamed on his UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) loss.

In case you didn’t know...
CM Punk (Phil Brooks) is best known for his time in WWE from 2005 until his rise to prominence following his Wrestlemania 24 victory in the Money In The Bank ladder match.
The 38-year-old bid adieu to WWE as well as the sport of professional wrestling in 2014, owing to health concerns stemming from injuries that he claimed to have sustained during his time with the company.

The heart of the matter
Phil ‘CM Punk’ Brooks made his MMA debut in September of last year at UFC 203, losing to Mickey Gall, after receiving brutal ground-and-pound strikes and eventually submitting to a Rear-Naked-Choke in the very first round.
Punk hasn’t competed in the sport of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) apart from the aforementioned fight and recently chose to participate in MTV’s reality show The Challenge.
The show’s format sees professional athletes from different sport compete against reality TV stars in challenging physical contests. Punk was part of one such in-show contest and ended up on the losing side, following which he was trolled by a fellow competitor who goes by the name Jason Bananas.
The fellow contestant Bananas is said to have attempted to try and shame CM Punk about being happy despite losing, not only the challenge they had just participated in but also his MMA debut fight at UFC 203. To which Punk issued the following retort:
“I was either going to win gloriously or die a glorious death (CM Punk speaking about his UFC debut). And that’s something somebody like you is never going to understand. Because they would never let you in because nobody would ever pay a dime to see your (expletive).

What’s next?
CM Punk can be seen on the MTV reality show The Challenge Season 29, titled as Invasion of the Champions. He’s still contracted to the UFC and has no plans of returning to professional wrestling…for now.

Author’s take
In my opinion, CM Punk expertly shut down Mr Jason Bananas, although I’m sure the latter may beg to differ.

It takes guts to make that lonely walk to the MMA cage just as it does to put your body on the line week-after-week in professional wrestling. In my opinion, Mr Bananas was merely trying to rile up the former WWE Champion and may have achieved that goal, albeit to a certain extent.

Manchester arena WWE event in jeopardy after terror attack

WWE News: Manchester arena WWE event in jeopardy after terror attack

WWE NXT show at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England may be in jeopardy owing to the recent terror attack in the city.

NXT show in Manchester may be cancelled owing to the terror attack

What’s the story?
A WWE event that was scheduled to take place at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England this June 6th is apparently in jeopardy.
As per TMZSports, WWE is in discussion with local law enforcement officials in the UK, in order to determine whether they should call off the upcoming NXT event in Manchester in view of the recent terror attack in the city and the very same venue that is supposed to host the NXT even in June.

In case you didn’t know...
A bomb exploded at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester this Monday night - an attack that is said to have killed 22 and injured more than 120 people.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing carried out by a 22-year old bomber.

The heart of the matter
The entire professional wrestling community has reacted to the unfortunate incident. As per TMZ, a WWE representative has issued the following statement on the upcoming NXT event in Manchester possibly being cancelled in wake of the terror attack:
"WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to those affected by this tragedy. We are working with local authorities on the appropriate course of action as it relates to our event scheduled for Tuesday, June 6 at the Manchester Arena."
The WWE has a weeklong tour scheduled in June with shows in notable cities in the United Kingdom such as Leeds and Brighton. It’s unclear as to if and how these recent developments may affect WWE’s other shows across the pond.

What’s next?
It’s essential to note that the WWE has not yet cancelled its NXT show in Manchester.
As of the time of this writing, WWE is still advertising its June 6th NXT show at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England with Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Asuka, Neville, Jack Gallagher and Drew McIntyre as the featured stars.

Author’s take
Wwelive offers our sincere condolences to the victims of the Manchester terror attacks. We hope the law enforcement authorities get to the bottom of this cowardly act and bring the perpetrators to justice.

We will keep you updated on WWE’s decision regarding its upcoming NXT show in Manchester, as and when further details are revealed.

In-ring debut happening on Raw tonight.

From the WWE rumor mill: In-ring debut happening on Raw tonight

Will a former NXT star finally make his Raw in-ring debut tonight.

Will The Drifter finally see in-ring action on Raw tonight?
Ever since “The Drifter” Elias Samson left NXT and appeared on Raw, he hasn’t done much more than wander – or “drift”, if you will – around backstage. According to PWInsider, however, it looks like his drifting days are done. Or, at least, exclusively drifting, anyway. He’s set to make his in-ring debut on tonight’s episode of Raw.
As of now, there’s no word on who Samson’s opponent will be. Also expected on the show tonight is the announcement of the Raw Tag Team Championship match between the Hardy Boyz and Sheamus & Cesaro at Extreme Rules. Hardy is scheduled to take on Sheamus in a match, with the winner to determine the stipulation for their match.

We’ll post more details as they’re available.

what he whispered to Johnny Gargano before betraying him.

what he whispered to Johnny Gargano before betraying him

Tommaso Ciampa reveals what he whispered into Johnny Gargano's ear before betraying the latter, after their match at NXT Takeover: Chicago.

Ciampa turned on Gargano at NXT Takeover: Chicago.
 What’s the story?
Tommaso Ciampa has taken to social media to reiterate what he apparently whispered into his now-former tag-team partner Johnny Gargano’s ear after their ladder match at NXT Takeover: Chicago.
Ciampa posted a GIF of his aforementioned conversation and subsequent attack on Gargano, via his official social media handle with the caption: “This wasn't our moment...this is my moment"

In case you didn’t know...
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano rose to prominence in NXT since their debut as DIY back in 2015. They have previously held the NXT tag-team championships.

The heart of the matter
Ciampa and Gargano competed against the Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) at NXT Takeover: Chicago this past Saturday and failed in their bid to regain the NXT tag-team belts, losing their ladder match to Akam and Rezar. Following the match, Tommaso Ciampa turned on his longtime friend and tag-team partner Johnny Gargano, launching a vicious attack on the latter.
Gargano was reportedly taken out of the arena in an ambulance. Here’s what Ciampa tweeted a few hours after the event:
Ciampa can be seen saying “This wasn’t our moment…this is my moment.” which in reference to their main-event showcase against the Authors of Pain at the Takeover event.

What’s next?
Tommaso Ciampa reportedly suffered an ankle injury – something that took place at an event before their match at NXT Takeover: Chicago, and may apparently miss the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, Gargano, who was at the receiving end of a brutal beat-down at the hands of Ciampa, will return to action as soon as he’s cleared for an in-ring return by the WWE doctors.

Author’s take
DIY was one of the more dynamic teams to have competed on NXT as of late, and this split may come as a shock to fans of the team the world over. Nevertheless, Ciampa’s betrayal of Gargano does set-up a grudge match between the two former team-mates, perhaps at a future NXT Takeover event.

Best and Worst of NXT Takeover: Chicago.

Best and Worst of NXT Takeover: Chicago

It was an almost picture-perfect NXT special, with very few complaints.

#2 Best: Two ‘Match of the Night’ contenders

Maybe even Match of the Year contenders.

It was ‘make or break’ time for the two men from WWE’s UK Division. And did they bring their A-Game! Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne put on a match that few expected them to and stole the night with their efforts. This was the biggest match for both of these men, and did they ever step up and deliver! We hope that this match ignites a fire among the participants of the Cruiserweight Division too because this is how you get a division over. Congratulations to the new UK Champion Pete Dunne.Maybe even Match of the Year contenders

We knew #DIY could put on great matches but had our reservations about the Authors of Pain. However, both teams were exceptional tonight and closed the night with a performance to be proud of. The spots that they pulled off looked painful indeed, and we wonder if they'll be able to walk straight with the damage their bodies took. Heck, even Paul Ellering took a bump during the action-packed contest.

#3 Best: Bobby Roode’s in-ring psychology

Roode wrestled with one arm, through the length of the Championship match
You will be hard pressed to find someone who sells an injury better than NXT Champion Bobby Roode. The Championship match was very different from the two matches we've mentioned before, with more ‘psychology’ than ‘action’. However, the story that the two men told made it all worth it. Itami worked Roode's arm through the course of the match, while Itami sold his leg that suffered damage thanks to the ring steps. This was the perfect appetizer before the main course, which was the Tag Team Championship ladder match.

#3 Worst/Best: The swerve.

A heartbreaking moment for most fans
We all signed in unison as Tommasso Ciampa turned on Johnny Gargano, and went full heel in the process. The crowd seemed to echo our sentiments too. While this was a great bit of television, it was heartbreaking for us to watch as fans of the tag-team. On an optimistic note, Ciampa vs. Gargano during the Cruiserweight Classic was a great match, maybe the best of the entire tournament.
In conclusion, NXT Takeover: Chicago made us proud to be wrestling fans, and realize that we’re living in a glorious era of sports entertainment.
Till we're victorious, we will defend, until the end!
