Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton announced for Money in the Bank.

WWE News: Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton announced for Money in the Bank

With the Money in the Bank Ladder Match looming, who will walk out of St. Loiuis as the WWE Championship?

Who will walk away as the WWE Champion?

What’s the story?
SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon announced a WWE Championship for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Randy Orton will invoke his rematch clause and challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship in a rematch from Backlash.
JUST ANNOUNCED: @RandyOrton has invoked his rematch clause as he will challenge @JinderMahal for the  at

In case you didn’t know...
Mahal became a contender for the WWE Championship back in April when he defeated five other Superstars in a six-pack challenge.
This past Sunday at Backlash, Mahal defeated Orton for the WWE Championship and became the 50th man in WWE history to hold the title.
Orton and Mahal are also scheduled for another championship match on the June 13, 2017 edition of SmackDown Live; 5 days before the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

The heart of the matter
Many fans predict that Mahal’s championship reign will only last a month; a theory that coincides with the four-week gap between Backlash and the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
If Orton regains the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank, then he will tie Triple H for 14 overall world championships reigns and be second to John Cena for most WWE Championship reigns.
Fans have also speculated that Mahal could keep the Championship to set up a match with Cena later down the line. The WWE has been known for their foreigner vs. patriotic American storylines in the past and Cena defeating Mahal for the title is also a possibility.
Another big factor in this match is the eventual winner of the Money in the Bank match. The Money in the Bank cash-ins are the most unpredictable aspects of the show and could be the difference between Mahal’s reign ending on the night of the pay-per-view or ending later down the line.
What’s next?
Tune in to SmackDown in the next four weeks to see the build continue for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
Also, the June 13th edition of SmackDown has a WWE Championship match scheduled as well, so that match may affect the WWE Championship scheduled for Money in the Bank.
Author’s take
While many fans are split on whether Mahal’s championship reign is a good thing, the fact remains that the WWE have a chance to right the wrongs with the development of this feud as well as making Mahal a credible champion.
Hopefully, SmackDown Live brings their A-game and makes this feud more interesting than when it started back in April.

Injured Superstars spotted backstage at Raw could hint at the identity of Enzo Amore's attackers

From the WWE Rumor mill: Injured Superstars spotted backstage at Raw could hint at the identity of Enzo Amore's attackers

Are the Top Guys making a mark weeks before they said they'd be back?

A mystery attacker (or attackers) took out Enzo on Raw this week...

What’s the story?
In a backstage segment on Monday Night Raw this week, Enzo Amore was found unresponsive after receiving a beating from an unknown wrestler or wrestlers. Later on in the evening, while Charly Caruso interviewed Sasha Banks backstage, a pair of gentlemen could be seen walking in the background.
Astute WWE gif maker @BulletClubItal would then create a zoomed-in version of the interview to show The Revival walking out of a room with purpose. Check out the tweet below:
Dash Wilder suffered a broken jaw during an NXT Live event in April. Two weeks ago, Scott Dawson gave an update on his tag team partner stating they would be coming for the tag team championships in six weeks. Check out that video below:

The heart of the matter
If The Revival stated they wouldn’t be back until the end of June, it sure is interesting that they would appear backstage four weeks before. We know The Revival are cold and calculated, so we cannot put it past them to show up to Raw unannounced to make a statement in secret.
While it hasn’t been proven that The Revival gave Enzo that beat down, too much adds up here.

What’s next?
We may find out on next week’s Monday Night Raw if Enzo is the target again. It is possible that The Revival ambush someone from each tag team in the weeks leading to Dawson being medically cleared.

Author’s take
My first thought when I saw Enzo was laid out on Raw this week was “oh no, they’re pulling the trigger on turning Big Cass heel already.”  At least this video “evidence” puts my mind at ease on that worry. They haven’t even won the Raw Tag Team Championships yet, and it would make zero sense to break them up.

Now as it pertains to The Revival making a backstage “cameo”, I love it.  It took the good eye of a viewer to recognise that there were some ‘Top Guys’ roaming around backstage. I think they’re going to attack another tag team next week.

CM Punk responds to being called out on failed professional wrestling career and UFC loss

WWE News: CM Punk responds to being called out on failed professional wrestling career and UFC loss

CM Punk lost once again, got trolled on TV and then called out on his failed professional wrestling career and UFC loss.

CM Punk seems to have gotten the short end of the stick once again.

What’s the story?
CM Punk ended up losing a challenge on the most recent episode of MTV’s The Challenge.
Punk was then trolled by a fellow contestant and called out on, what the contestant opined, was a failed professional wrestling career, besides being shamed on his UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) loss.

In case you didn’t know...
CM Punk (Phil Brooks) is best known for his time in WWE from 2005 until his rise to prominence following his Wrestlemania 24 victory in the Money In The Bank ladder match.
The 38-year-old bid adieu to WWE as well as the sport of professional wrestling in 2014, owing to health concerns stemming from injuries that he claimed to have sustained during his time with the company.

The heart of the matter
Phil ‘CM Punk’ Brooks made his MMA debut in September of last year at UFC 203, losing to Mickey Gall, after receiving brutal ground-and-pound strikes and eventually submitting to a Rear-Naked-Choke in the very first round.
Punk hasn’t competed in the sport of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) apart from the aforementioned fight and recently chose to participate in MTV’s reality show The Challenge.
The show’s format sees professional athletes from different sport compete against reality TV stars in challenging physical contests. Punk was part of one such in-show contest and ended up on the losing side, following which he was trolled by a fellow competitor who goes by the name Jason Bananas.
The fellow contestant Bananas is said to have attempted to try and shame CM Punk about being happy despite losing, not only the challenge they had just participated in but also his MMA debut fight at UFC 203. To which Punk issued the following retort:
“I was either going to win gloriously or die a glorious death (CM Punk speaking about his UFC debut). And that’s something somebody like you is never going to understand. Because they would never let you in because nobody would ever pay a dime to see your (expletive).

What’s next?
CM Punk can be seen on the MTV reality show The Challenge Season 29, titled as Invasion of the Champions. He’s still contracted to the UFC and has no plans of returning to professional wrestling…for now.

Author’s take
In my opinion, CM Punk expertly shut down Mr Jason Bananas, although I’m sure the latter may beg to differ.

It takes guts to make that lonely walk to the MMA cage just as it does to put your body on the line week-after-week in professional wrestling. In my opinion, Mr Bananas was merely trying to rile up the former WWE Champion and may have achieved that goal, albeit to a certain extent.

The heart of the matter
The entire professional wrestling community has reacted to the unfortunate incident. As per TMZ, a WWE representative has issued the following statement on the upcoming NXT event in Manchester possibly being cancelled in wake of the terror attack:
"WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to those affected by this tragedy. We are working with local authorities on the appropriate course of action as it relates to our event scheduled for Tuesday, June 6 at the Manchester Arena."
The WWE has a weeklong tour scheduled in June with shows in notable cities in the United Kingdom such as Leeds and Brighton. It’s unclear as to if and how these recent developments may affect WWE’s other shows across the pond.

What’s next?
It’s essential to note that the WWE has not yet cancelled its NXT show in Manchester.
As of the time of this writing, WWE is still advertising its June 6th NXT show at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England with Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Asuka, Neville, Jack Gallagher and Drew McIntyre as the featured stars.

Author’s take
Wwelive offers our sincere condolences to the victims of the Manchester terror attacks. We hope the law enforcement authorities get to the bottom of this cowardly act and bring the perpetrators to justice.

We will keep you updated on WWE’s decision regarding its upcoming NXT show in Manchester, as and when further details are revealed.

In case you didn’t know...
With WWE Backlash now in the history books, SmackDown LIVE will have a chip on its shoulder to prove that it is indeed on par, or even better than Monday Night RAW. Backlash was marred by a shocking booking decision that left the WWE Universe in splits.
The decision to crown Jinder Mahal the WWE Champion has not gone well with some sections of the WWE Universe and tonight’s episode of Smackdown LIVE could provide clarity on the direction that WWE is planning to take the product.

The heart of the matter
It was reported on WWE.com that Shane will make a major announcement regarding Money in The Bank on Smackdown tonight.
WWE.com has learned that SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon will be making a major announcement regarding Money in the Bank tonight. Will this news change the course of Team Blue?
The pay per view will feature some of the biggest stars of the blue brand such as AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Nakamura, Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn and Tye Dillinger among others.  There are also rumours running wild that Rusev will return to SmackDown to demand his shot at the WWE Championship.
Certain Superstars such as Sami Zayn and Tye Dillinger have expressed interest in joining the Money in the Bank match. The Money in the Bank contract guarantees the winner a shot at the champion at a time of his choosing and is a sure-fire way of winning the coveted championship.

What’s next?
Money in the Bank is scheduled for Sunday, June 18, 2017, from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This will be the first time that Money in The Bank will be a Smackdown-exclusive affair.

Author's take
Smackdown has truly lived up to its moniker of ‘Land of Opportunity’. With Jinder Mahal beating Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, WWE has once again proved that they can come up with the biggest of swerves to keep its audience guessing.

Shane’s announcement is sure to garner some views for the blue brand. It could perhaps be to inform the WWE Universe of the participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match or Jinder’s opponent for the event.
