From the WWE Rumor Mill: Favorites to win the Tag Team Turmoil Match on RAW
The Hardyz may be facing their recent foes.
What’s the story?
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cesaro and Sheamus are the favourites to walk out of favourites to walk out of favourites to walk out of favourites to walk out of favourites to walk out of RAW as the number one contenders for the RAW tag team championship.
In case you didn’t know...
There will be a Tag Team turmoil match on the coming episode of RAW featuring Gallows and Anderson, Enzo and Cass, The Golden Truth, Heath Slater and Rhyno, and Cesaro and Sheamus.
The tag team turmoil match was announced last week on RAW when The Golden Truth requested for a championship match against the current champions The Hardy Boyz. Kurt Angle declined their request since their win-loss record “wasn’t good enough”, but told them that they would compete in the tag team turmoil match.
The rules of the tag team turmoil match are now as follows: Two teams start, and after one team gets eliminated, another team comes out. The last team standing will be declared the winners and the number one contenders for the RAW Tag Team Championship.
Cesaro and Sheamus turned heel at Payback after being defeated by the Hardy Boyz. The Hardy Boyz have been heavily teasing reverting to the “Broken” gimmick from Impact Wrestling. Dave Meltzer from the WON stated that WWE does plan to go ahead with the ‘Broken’ gimmick once they acquire the rights from Impact.
The heart of the matter
The Observer noted that Cesaro and Sheamus are the favourites to win the match. It does make storyline sense for them to win, as they are still embroiled in a rivalry with The Hardy Boyz.
If they are to win, it will most likely set up a rematch between the two teams for Extreme Rules. At that point, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Cesaro and Sheamus become the favourites to take the titles off The Hardy Boyz. This would definitely set up The Hardyz becoming “Broken”.
What’s next?
The Tag team turmoil match will take place tonight on RAW and we will see what’s next for The Hardy Boyz.
Author’s Take
Cesaro and Sheamus would be the right choice to win right now. It would be great for them to dethrone The Hardy Boyz at Extreme Rules so that WWE can fast track the Broken storyline and give the WWE Universe a taste of Broken brilliance.
The duo needs to "heel" it up more and start a bigger mean streak. Both athletes have the calibre to do it and make it seem credible. It will get a lot more heat on them going forward as heels.
