WWE Backlash 2017: 5 potential finishes between Shinsuke Nakamura and Dolph Ziggler

Will it be a clean finish? Will there be a disqualification? How will the battle conclude between Ziggler and Nakamura at Backlash?

Their matchup has the potential to be a showstopper, but what will the eventual ending be?
The wait is almost over – after nearly a month of teasers and verbal exchanges, ShinsukeNakamura and Dolph Ziggler will compete against one another at the Smackdown Live pay-per-view Backlash. The focus of the build and the advertising is that this is the official in-ring debut of Nakamura on the main roster.
The belief is that the Japanese sensation's in-ring debut for Smackdown Live has been held off because the company intends to impress upon fans how special an attraction Nakamura is.
Over the course of the last month, Nakamura's presence and Ziggler's posturing has resulted in an intense feud between them. Many have wondered what the ultimate result of their rivalry will end up being once they step into the ring.
Will it be a clean finish? Will there be a disqualification? Will the match end in a no contest? How will the battle conclude?
Here are five potential finishes for the match between Shinsuke Nakamura and DolphZiggler.

#5 Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Dolph Ziggler with a Kinshasa

Nakamura’s signature strike may be an end to this match up
The King of Strong Style has been held off television for what is believed to be very good reasons. There is an effort being made to develop a mystique around him and his character, much like how The Undertaker’s character was built. He hasn't competed on Smackdown Live yet, as his debut match is important enough to be on pay-per-view rather than weekly television.

Those that haven't seen him in NXT, or before that competing for New Japan Pro Wrestling, are in for a real treat as he has long been considered the most popular man in ‘sports entertainment' outside theWWE. Now that he is set to debut against The Showoff, we should anticipate a hard-fought contest.

Ziggler has long been known for putting on great matches; in many ways, he could be considered the heel version of Sami Zayn. The result that fans can more likely anticipate is a signature Nakamura knee strike, known as the Kinshasa, and a pinfall win.

#4 The return of Rusev

A returning Rusev could impact the finish of this match
The addition of Nakamura to the Smackdown Live roster will definitely show fans that aren't familiar with him just how much he can do. For those that have seen Nakamura compete, his presence in the ring is unmistakeable. However, the match may end up in a no contest, despite being a compelling battle.

The reason for the interference would be the impending return of a former United States champion. Rusev has made clear he wants to contend for the WWE title, so how better to make a statement than by standing in the way of someone that has had a buzz built around him in the lead up to his debut.

A scenario could unfold where Rusev comes in and causes Ziggler to lose by DQ in order to make a statement. There is no history between Rusev and Nakamura, with the exception that both of them began their WWE career in NXT, though not at the same time.
This could very well be the night where Rusev returns to WWE and in doing so stops ‘The artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura’.

#3 A medical stoppage as Ziggler is knocked by Nakamura

The King of Strong Style may end his match with Dolph Ziggler in a shocking manner
A finale like this to end the Ziggler/Nakamura confrontation would not only be good for the face in this instance but would be good for the heel. We could see a relentless beat down by Ziggler, with Nakamura doing a classic face comeback, reaching down deep to come up with the victory.
However, Nakamura isn't a typical face; he has flash and charm, walks to the ring with a sense of confidence and personality that isn't often seen. We may be faced with a scenario where Nakamura is dominant, strikes and kicks so lethally that the match would end in no time.

Fans watching NXT have seen what Aleister Black's finishing move, The Black Mass can do, a kick that knocks an opponent out cold. Nakamura could do the same thing here.
However, rather than a kick to Ziggler causing him to drop, we may see a scenario where within the storyline of the match, Ziggler is knocked out causing the referee to call the match, resulting in a different kind of win for the King of Strong Style.

#2 The match is interrupted by a ‘fan'

Could a new adversary be lurking amongst the fans for Shinsuke Nakamura?
Fan involvement is certainly frowned upon. When a spectator at any point tries to take the liberty of getting involved, the consequence is usually being attacked by said wrestler and removed by security. However, when ‘fan interference' is staged, it certainly suggests that more is planned for this story.
As part of his entrance, Nakamura often leans into the fans like a rockstar and takes in the adulation of those in attendance. Could it be a fan that was mad with wanting to be up close and personal with Nakamura, to the point that it actually was a threat?

The story could be that Nakamura being such a big star could have an over-exuberant fan crossing the line, causing him to lose the match. Or, what if one of those ‘fans' was someone he had a past with? Could they bring in someone from Japan to help rekindle a rivalry?
It would certainly only add to the mystique of Nakamura, and perhaps someone sharing Ziggler's jealousy will be what prevents from ending like it should. Nakamura's fan interaction could be what causes the end of the match.

#1 The match doesn't technically begin, thus affecting the result

A scenario could be that Ziggler mocks Nakamura’s contributions and a brawl could ensue before the bell rings
In this case, anything that could go wrong in a match may go wrong, and the match result could be one that fans wouldn't anticipate. In this instance, the match doesn't end up coming to be.
Ziggler could be so tired of all the extravagance that tends to follow Nakamura and be pushed to a point where he actually interrupts his entrance and beats him down mercilessly before the bell even rings.
We could see Nakamura make a comeback, and the two continue to battle back and forth. However, the bell would never actually ring, and officials would spend their time trying to separate them. A debut where there is no official match recorded would certainly disappoint the crowd watching both at home and in attendance.
