From the WWE Rumor Mill: Emma's latest Instagram post suggests she won't need surgery
Some good news for Emma.
What’s the story?
From the look of things on Emma’s latest Instagram post, it looks like she will not be needing surgery like feared by some.
In case you didn’t know...
Emma suffered a shoulder injury this past week in a live event. It was Sasha Banks’ double knees that allegedly led to the injury. The referee threw up the “X” sign and Emma was then taken away. She was sent back to the United States to get checked up, thus ending her European tour.
Emma has had a string of bad luck in WWE. Her first main roster run ended in failure after she adopted a dancing gimmick, partnering with Santino Marella. She went back to NXT, and after undergoing major improvement, she got her second chance at the main roster, performing on the WrestleMania 32 pre-show.
Not long after her second chance at the main roster, she got injured and was sidelined for months. For approximately 17 weeks, WWE aired vignettes of her returning as “Emmalina”, but that fell flat. She finally returned in her regular persona to a great response, but now has once again faced injury. Emma seems to be the definition of bad luck.
The heart of the matter
On her latest Instagram post, she can be seen without a cast, and she seems determined to get back.
If she doesn’t have to undergo surgery after all, then it can only be good news. Hopefully, we will see Evil Emma back in action before we know it!
What’s next?
Emma will be rehabbing and looking to get back as soon as possible. Hopefully, bad luck doesn’t strike thrice and she can have a proper run on RAW. She would be an ideal opponent for Sasha Banks to feud with until she turns heel.
Author’s Take
It’s terrible luck for Emma, and it’s always sad that she doesn’t seem to be a priority for WWE. However, if she doesn’t require surgery, then it can only be good news. She is undoubtedly one of the most underutilised talents in the entire company and deserves a good spot on the card.
Emma is a potential Women’s Champion and should be treated like championship-calibre material. Here’s wishing Emma speedy recovery!
