WWE News: Sunny has some strong words for the current WWE Women's roster
Sunny has a few choice words for the current WWE roster.
What’s the story?
Sunny aka Tammy Lynn Sytch took to social media to criticise the current crop of WWE Superstars for being romantically involved with each other.
In case you didn’t know...
Sunny, whose real name is Tammy Lynn Sytch, performed for WWE from 1995-98 and ECW from ’98-99, following which she had a brief stint in WCW in 2000.
Sunny is well-known in the professional wrestling community for her string of alleged affairs with several top WWE Superstars- most of which she has confirmed.
The heart of the matter
Sunny posted a rant on her official Facebook account, criticising the WWE locker room and specifically taking aim at the female performers in the company. You can read an excerpt from the post below:
“Is it my imagination, or is the WWE locker room one big f**k-fest nowadays??? Everyone is dating/marrying/f****g, EVERYONE!!! It's a revolving bedroom door with these kids. And people still have the b***s to gasp in shock when I, or anyone else, mentions the 9-month long relationship I had with Shawn Michaels.... unreal. My 'number' is much lower than some of these girls.... at least back then, the guys had wives at home. The entire locker room wasn't dating each other... or me.”
The reference to her relationship with Shawn Michaels is in the context of her real-life affair with the ‘Heart Break Kid’ that escalated into a highly-publicized love triangle involving Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart- something that is, to date, considered as one of the biggest controversies in WWE history.
What’s next?
Sunny made sporadic appearances for WWE in 2007, 2009 and 2011 but has mainly worked on the independent pro-wrestling circuit since 2000. She appeared in a film last year that is said to have garnered a lot of attention in the professional wrestling community. Sunny also released her autobiography in February of last year.
Author’s take
Sunny has been involved in multiple controversies over the course of her career, including a long real-life rivalry with Rena Lesnar aka Sable. Nevertheless, she has every right in the world to voice her opinion, and we, as fans, must respect that. Although I may not agree with her view on today’s WWE roster, I can empathise with her, when it comes to her relationship with HBK being blown out of proportion by the media.
